We started with a simple question: why should business owners pay a retail markup to get the capital they need?
At Poetry Capital, we developed an approach designed to remove traditional broker markups and bring our clients closer to wholesale pricing. The difference is that we contribute our own cash to the deals we fund.
By putting our own capital into the transaction, we can help reduce brokerage costs and pass that value along to our clients. We have a personal stake in the funding we provide.
We keep our operation small and our conversations straightforward. From our eight-person office in Long Island, we focus on understanding your business, explaining your options, and finding a structure that makes sense.
MEET OUR TEAM
We started in business funding, learning the industry one conversation at a time. As we grew into team leaders, our own investments in real estate and other ventures taught us what it means to put personal capital behind a plan.
Kevin, Jack, and Mike brought that perspective together to build Poetry Capital: a small firm in Long Island, with our own money in the deals and a personal stake in the businesses we work with.
Kevin brings a straightforward, people-first approach to the founding team. His focus is on listening to business owners, building lasting relationships, and keeping the conversation clear from the first call to the next step.
Jack brings a practical eye to the plans behind each application. He focuses on understanding how a business runs, what the owner wants to build, and how the funding conversation fits into that bigger picture.
Mike brings the same entrepreneurial drive to client relationships that helped shape Poetry Capital. He focuses on making the application process approachable and helping business owners turn a broad goal into a clear conversation about capital.
